How To: Color Block

A great way to encorporate various colors into your outfit is through color blocking. This is when you choose pieces of clothing that have no print that are in various, typically bright colors. However, you should never use more than three different colors when you do this. Also, accessories are a great way to add various colors to your look. Below I show and explain three different color blocking looks.

The first outfit (Far left) is a great way to color block for night time. The three colors used are dark green, purple, and yellow. The colors are not to bright and the yellow and purple are very small and subtle. I love that black is used for the neutral color.

The second outfit (Center) is a very cute day time look. It uses pastel colors that all accent each other very well. The colors used are lilac, light blue, and coral. These all work together very well. The nude bag and shoes are perfect because they don't cause there to be too much color.

The final outfit (Far right) is a very cute look for summer. There are only two colors in this outfit but they go together very well. The navy blue shorts and yellow top are very bright but still tasteful. Again, she pairs this look with the nude shoes and bag.

These are all great ways to use color blocking in your outfit. Try out your own color blocking ideas out, but remember no more than three colors, and be sure that the colors all accent each other.
